\"Edgar<\/a>Hello, I am Edgar Nersisyan from Gyumri, Armenia. I was born on 27.08.1975. I am a musician. A tragedy happened to me when I started to gradually lose the ability of hearing. When I was 32 years old I became completely deaf. For \u00a0a man, who worked as a musician and maintained his family it was a real disaster. I started to look for help. In Erebouni Medical Centre, in Yerevan, Armenia, I was diagnosed 4th grade of sensorineural hearing loss. The only salvation for me and for other people with the same diagnosis is Cochlear implantation which costs a lot of money. Because of \u00a0lack of finances I had to wait for a whole year until I found a donor for my cochlear implantation. At the age of 33, in 2008 \u00a0I got an implant with Freedom speech processor. \u00a0It helped me a lot to get back to life, to hear the sounds of lovely music again.<\/p>\n

After the implantation I decided to help people with the same problem. Many parents in Armenia whose children became deaf or were born deaf didn\u2019t trust Cochlear Implantation. This was a lack of information in my country. So I decided to meet them and show how well the implant works, to answer all their questions. I believe I helped many people to come to the right decision.<\/p>\n

With happiness, there was also fear as I did know that the speech processors worn out after 5 years of usage. Alongside with fear I dreamed about new, more advanced SP as I knew the newest ones give better and clearer hearing. Thanks God I didn\u2019t face a problem after bearing Freedom 5 years as I met Dr. Monika Lehnhardt, the president of Prof. Ernst Lehnhardt Foundation, who donated me a \u201cnew\u201d CP810 speech processor which gives me much better hearing. With the SP I also got a remote control which releases me from problems I faced before.<\/p>\n

I am very thankful to Dr. Lehnhardt, She saved me and many other Armenian families with her project \u201cUpgrade Speech Processors for Armenia\u201d.<\/p>\n
